Pflaum® FI mineral wool panels clad the A380 maintenance hangar at Frankfurt/Main Airport

The A380 played a central role in Lufthansa's hub strategy, so it was correspondingly important to locate the maintenance hangar in Frankfurt. The 350 m x 140 m maintenance hangar provides space for up to four Airbus A 380s. The hangar was clad with smooth Pflaum® FI mineral wool panels on both sides in special construction width with our Hairflon® 25 PVDF coating in the color 9952 Akzo Nobel.

The composite panels provide a seamless appearance to the façade with a concealed fastener. The shear-resistant bond of the non-combustible mineral wool fibers inside prevent the insulation from sagging, allowing for maximum stability and safety of the facade. The mineral wool panel is available in many different colors, surface designs and panel thicknesses from ArcelorMittal Construction Austria.
